Did an all nighter just to finish this series. Hands down best Ive seen in awhile. Although the plot twists were getting predictable at some point, the story was still a good one.

One of the best slice of life, seinen , romance and music anime I've watched!

At first you will think it was shounen AI or bl because of that ICONIC FIRST MEET OF KAORU AND SENTARO, THE HOLDING HANDS!!!! But it's not. So many good music in this series and because of that I'm a fan now of Jazz and I appreciate it. I really downloaded all 12 ost Jazz music of this anime. Again one of the best!

I really love the relationship of kaoru and Sentaro, I'm longing for that kind of friendship, really. In addition their relationship is like Suwa and that suicidal guy in anime Orange.

So yes, this is masterpiece!

this show seems like it went under the radar , i watch alot of anime and almost skipped right past this 1 glad i gave it a chance probably 1 of the best animes i have seen with the characters and atmosphere/music, they say it is jazz but honestly was feeling like some progressive rock in some sections which was pretty slick

I already watch this a year ago and I'm here to say that I still can't go over in this masterpiece anime! I still can't absorb the fact that it's not bl or Shounen AI even though the atmosphere is very gae and they show some bl hints. I can't still get the fact that Kaoru has a wife and Sentaro became a Priest.... Though I'm happy for them.

Really, two people who were great friends AND had romantic feeling for eachother didn't talk again for 8 YEARS despite knowing exactly where the other one lived????
If the terms on which they stopped talking felt more realistic I would've accepted it immediately, but now I just don't buy it.

Don't get me wrong tho, this anime is still a masterpiece and especially episode 7 should have a place in anime episode-hall of fame.

8/10, I love it, it's beautiful and unique in all the right ways. But damn some of the writing at the end felt kinda sour.

this last episode was honestly the weakest, and a slightly underwhelming ending. i expected atleast some tears, and while i wont complain about them immediately jazzing it out on first encounter, it's definitely a little underwhelming of a reaction after eight whole years of no contact and complete disappearance. however, definitely a 9 or 10/10 anime. the dynamic between kaoru and sentaro was inexpicably beautiful.

on the other hand, literally everybody glowed down after high school (except MAYBE kaoru)

This is the one of the best anime of all time without a doubt. There are not many anime I would recommend to normal people or first time anime viewers, but this will definitely be one of them.
